The ANZCHOG Annual Scientific Meeting committee invites you to submit an abstract for possible inclusion within the official program.

Before submitting your abstract, ensure you read the below guidelines carefully. All information that you require is included below.

Abstract Information

  • Please note that all correspondence will be sent to the email address you provide when uploading your abstract.
  • Applicants whose abstract is accepted must be a registered attendee.
  • A link will be sent to the main author to register. Any costs incurred remain at the responsibility of the presenting author.

We welcome delegates to submit their abstracts for the 2026 ASM under the following categories:

Abstract Submission Guidelines

We have prepared guidelines to assist you with preparing your abstract for the ANZCHOG 2026 ASM.
It is important to read these carefully when preparing your submission. 

To read detailed information below please click on “+” buttons below. 

  • Only abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed
  • Abstracts must contain original scientific data collected by the author(s).
  • Abstracts are to be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)

Authors must follow the formatting guidelines below. An abstract template is available, and should be used as a guide.

  • Word count: maximum 250 words (excluding title, authors and affiliations)
  • Font: Arial, 11 points, single-spaced, text left and right justified.
  • Abbreviations: Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations, spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name is outlined in the body of the abstract in full. Capitalise the first letter of trade names.
  • Grammar: The author(s) is responsible for ensuring their text does not contain any typos or grammatical errors. The Program Committee will not be responsible for any errors published.
  • Abstracts should comprise of the following elements, with each beginning a new paragraph:
    • Background/ Motivation
    • Objective
    • Approach/ Method
    • Findings/ Results
    • Conclusion
    • References (optional)
  • Authors: A maximum of xx presenting authors are permitted for each abstract.
  • References: Should follow the Vancouver system.
  • Tables and Figures: A maximum of 2 tables are allowed per component, with an individual maximum of ten columns and ten rows per table.

This year’s theme of ‘ Innovate, Integrate, Inspire:   Elevating Supportive Care in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology will focus on advancing collaborative research, strengthening multidisciplinary practice, and improving outcomes for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders.

We welcome delegates to submit their abstracts for the 2026 ASM under the following themes.

We ask submitters to select the most appropriate topic(s) for their presentation, up to a maximum of two (2).

Presentation types

Abstracts can be submitted for either oral or poster presentations.

The 2026 Local Organising Committee reserves the right to determine whether a submission is accepted as an oral or a poster and its decision is final. 

Oral presentations

  • All oral presentations will be 10 minutes in duration plus 5 minutes discussion.
  • Oral presenters will be asked to present orally with a PowerPoint presentation. 


Poster presentations

  • Poster presentations will be asked to present a traditional physical poster display.
  • Poster presenters will be asked to present a visual representation of their work.

*Abstracts may be scheduled for presentation on any day during the ASM.

Posters

  • Successful applicants will be required to display the poster at the conference utilising the standardise poster template
  • They must be available to stand by their poster to discuss the poster findings as required during the conference breaks
  • Posters can be printed on paper or fabric and/or laminated and we recommend using Velcro to mount material on the panel as poster boards will be Velcro compatible.
  • Posters will be displayed on free-standing horizontal boards. Your poster space allocation is AO size, portrait (1189mm high x 841mm wide – maximum size).
  • Presenters are required to hang their posters upon collecting their registration on Wednesday 5 August 2025. 
  • Posters will be available for the duration of the conference.

Important Information

  • All abstracts submitted must be original work and cannot be previously presented in any form, unless agreed in writing by the Local Organising Committee.
  • Abstracts must be submitted by the presenting author
  • Successful abstracts will be published within the Local Organising Committee’s discretion.
  • Should you prefer that your abstract NOT be published, please advise the conference secretariat.
  • All successful applicants are required to register for the conference and pay the registration fee.
  • All presenters are required to register within 2 weeks of receiving their notification
  • Any abstract that does not comply with these specifications may not be accepted for review.

Please ensure you read the guidelines on this page carefully prior to submission as there is important information included. Please note, emailed submissions will not be accepted.

A: No, QR codes are not permitted in submissions. However, they may be used in presentations.

A: Yes, if applicable. They should be placed at the bottom of the abstract and are not included in the word count.

A: It is anticipated that registration will open in February 2026. Please ensure that you regularly check the ASM website for updates.

A: Authors will be notified of the outcome of their submission via email in April 2026.

A: Yes, as a presenter you are required to register and pay to attend the ASM. Any presenters not registered for the ASM by 5 June 2026 will be withdrawn from the program.
