Dr Alessandri is a medical graduate from the University of Western Australia and is currently juggling professional roles as a General Paediatrician in Albany and a Clinical Paediatric Haematologist at Perth Children’s Hospital.
This phase of her career follows many years as a consultant in paediatric haematology/oncology/stem cell transplantation at Princess Margaret Hospital. Dr Alessandri has also completed a Masters in Bioethics from Monash University, and is involved in the clinical ethics activities of the Perth Children’s Hospital, having been instrumental in setting up the Women’s and Children’s Clinical Ethics Service. Her publications reflect her interest in paediatric oncology, clinical ethics and aspects of professionalism and wellness.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Alessandri joined the School of Medicine at Notre Dame in 2015 where she has been involved in the Physician Wellness Program, and teaching in communication and clinical practice and professionalism. She has a passion for the health and wellness of medical students and doctors and promotes this in part through her work as a member of the Doctors’ Health Advisory Service of WA.
