David Lord is a paediatric diagnostic and interventional radiologist with subspecialty interest in vascular tumours and malformations.
He has extensive experience in this area having held clinics at The Childrens Hospital Westmead since 2004 and since 2024 at John Hunter Childrens Hospital where he is currently head of paediatric imaging.
He is a past President of the Australia and New Zealand Society for Paediatric Radiology (ANZSPR), one of the founding board members of the international Society for Paediatric Interventional Radiology (SPIR) and a long time member of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA). He is a coauthor on: the 2014 international consensus document on the classification of vascular anomalies; on the first description of RASA1 in CM-AVM syndrome; on patient focused outcomes in doxycycline sclerotherapy; and in 2007 set up Australia’s first bleomycin sclerotherapy program at Chidlrens Hospital Westmead. In 2026 for his lifetime work in vascular anomalies in children he is being awarded the Gold Medal of the Society for Pediatric Interventional Radiology.
