Welcome

We welcome you to the 14th Biennial Paediatric Radiation Oncology Training Course held in conjunction with the Australian and New Zealand Children’s Oncology Group being held in Perth.  This year’s design of the programme not only covers the core paediatric malignancies requiring radiation therapy but also allows an opportunity for the first time to be a part of ANZCHOG, the key body in Australia and New Zealand for research and innovation in paediatric oncological management.

Practical workshop in contouring and irradiation challenges will be taught at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, the home of the first CyberKnife in Australasia and will cover sessions on TBI, CSI, WVI, along with integrating treatment delivery within multidisciplinary practice and protocols.

To this end, management of paediatric cancers requires a strong partnership which will be demonstrated as a part of this year’s integration with ANCHOG by guest speakers from the other disciplines.  Furthermore, technical advances in radiotherapy with particle therapy will be introduced by our invited guest speaker from USA.

We sincerely hope that this course will not only be a memorable occasion here in Perth but also enhance your understanding of management of paediatric cancers in the multidisciplinary setting.
